Traffic Citation Information

West Slope

Approximately three to five weeks after you receive a traffic citation on the Western Slope of El Dorado County, a courtesy notice will be mailed to you. This notice will provide you with a bail amount, which is the amount of the fine. Your appearance date will be on the bottom of the citation. Some violations require a mandatory appearance in court and will not list a bail amount.

You may pay the bail amount indicated on the courtesy notice and then not appear. That will end the matter. If you wish to contest your citation, ask the judge for a fine less than your bail amount, or seek to pay your fine over time, you should appear on your assigned date. If you cannot appear on your assigned date, you must contact the court in advance; otherwise, a warrant for your arrest will be issued.

You may pay your bail or fine with cash or a check, either in person or by mail. If you wish to pay by credit/debit card, please click here. https://www.paybill.com/eldoradocourt.

An Information sheet will be enclosed with your courtesy notice providing you with additional information regarding your citation. If you do not receive your courtesy notice by the appearance date indicated on your citation, and the three-week waiting period has ended, please contact the court at (530) 621-7470. The Placerville Traffic Division is open 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
